Ratings- What are they and why do they matter?

Rating are very important to the Film industry as they are good to split the films up into certain groups in so that these groups and films are targeted to the right audience. For example Toy Story would not be an enjoyable film a 15 year old boy, who would prefer a James Bond, Casino Royale. The rating system is also a good guide to help you know what kind of film it is without watching.
The Rating system are as follows into why these rating are given due to what film:

U Rating- It is a universal film suitable for children four years and older. This films are looked at for the primary school children and so that it enable them to be able to watch films with U rating alone.

PG Rating- It is for a little bit of an older group aimed for Eight year olds but choice of an adult present when watching as scenes may not be as pleasant as others. Sensitive children may need an adult present.

12 Rating and 12 A Rating- Both are identical but with a 12 A the person watching younger then 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult as scenes may be to sensitive for a younger viewer. Scenes from these films may be seen as too much for children advising parents to be aware.

15 Rating- No one younger then 15 must not watch it, these films introduce the adult humour and in some cases, horror films may show violence and horrible scenes which may affect the viewing for this older audience.

18 Rating- No one younger may not watch these films, these will contain Violence, Adult humour, Sexual Scenes, in any case anything could be shown pending on the type of the film.
